How to say 'Naughty' 😉 & some more sweet nothings in Persian

Salām, lovely learners! 🌞

🗣 Let’s dive into some flirty Persian expressions today, starting with the pronunciation of "sheytoon": (Note: "oo" is like the "oo" in "Zoo" and "y" is like the "y" in "by")

Now, let's get playful with a sweet and cheeky expression: "Ey Sheytoon!" (You naughty one!)

🦉 Dig Deeper: More Insights for the Curious

Let’s break it down:

  • Ey: This is your go-to Persian "Hey!" to grab your lover's attention. You can add any affectionate adjective or description after it to address your partner in a loving, playful way. For example:

    • Ey Khoshgel! (Hey beautiful!) 💃🕺 – perfect when they’re looking fabulous.
    • Ey Mehraboon! (Hey kind-hearted!) ❤️ – an adorable thank you for their sweet gesture.
  • Sheytoon: Literally means "devil" (شیطون), but don’t let that throw you off! Just like in English, it's a playful term. In Persian relationships, you can use it for someone being a bit flirty or cheeky, and it's often used between lovers or even close friends. Think of it as saying, "You little mischief!"

    Example:

  • A: Emshab film bebinim? (Shall we watch a movie tonight?)

  • B: Ey sheytoon! Che naghshe-i dāri? (You naughty one! What are you up to?) 😉

Note: The formal version of "sheytoon" is "sheytān" (شیطان), which is more commonly used for "devil" in the literal sense.
