Let’s talk about one of the most heartwarming ways to call someone "my love" in Persian:
Eshgh-am (عشقم).
In Persian, "eshgh" means love, and when you add "am" at the end, it becomes "my love." Easy and full of affection!
How to Pronounce It:
The pronunciation of "gh" (/ق/) in eshgh might be tricky at first. Imagine saying the soft "r" in "Paris" but from the back of your throat—give it a few tries, and you’ll get the hang of it!
For those of you who already are familiar with Persian Alphabet, pronunciation of 'ق' and 'غ' are the same.
Alternative Phrase:
Another way to say "my love" is "Eshgh-e man" (عشق من).
Here are two sentences to practice:
-
eshgham, doos(t)et daram.
(.عشقم، دوستت دارم)
My love, I love you. -
eshgham, delam barā*t tang shode.
(.عشقم، دلم برات تنگ شده)
My love, I miss you.
*ā like 'a' in 'car'.
3. eshgham, to donyā-ye man-i.
(.عشقم، تو دنیای مَنی)
My love, you're my world.
✔ donyā: world دُنیا
4. Eshgham, to binazir-i.
(.عشقم،تو بینَظیری)
My love, you're unique. 👇🏼
✔ binazir: unique بینَظیر
